@theluthier Thank you very much for the input. I’m especially thankful for the Arch Viz tips. That is a thing I need to do well.
I recently bought a ThinkPad P52 with the Quadro P2000 card. It has been great so far. Rendering is shockingly fast even with the mid grade P2000 card. The only minor regret I have is that I bought the 1080 screen because I often work with my Dell Ultrasharp monitor. I do a lot of video editing and the 1080 is less color accurate than the 4k and I do find myself out on site wondering about color and not wanting to do any correcting and grading on the road.
If that isn’t an issue, then the Thinkpad P52 is the answer, in my opinion.
@arev Thanks! It was fun.
@theluthier That does indeed make it clear. I’ll go mess with that right now.
@gradyp Thank you very much! That does indeed clarify things. I appreciate your time.
@carrotnl Yup. That’s why I asked, because it looked good.
@carrotnl That’s great! I appreciate that. Did you intend to leave the IOR values different for the Fresnel and Refraction?
I think your new render looks much improved and I like you old one in the first place. Nice work.
This is what I have. I’m in LookDev and the only thing that appears as an option is what I have here under Shading. If I press the settings wheel there, it brings me to a User Preference tab that I don’t really understand either. I don’t want to waste your time, but I admit I’m not seeing something here.
@sparkes983 Looks pretty darn close to me. Nice job.
@carrotnl Looks great. Makes me want to do mine over again… I see sparkles983 is with me having trouble with the glass to come out like yours. I would would love to hear what you did there.
I’m not much on critique as I don’t know enough to be useful, but I really like it. Having said that, the speckles are throwing me off a bit… just not sure what they are. If they are dirt, then the car looks too clean otherwise. If they are paint speckles, then I think they are too big.
@sparkes983 Thanks. I appreciate that. Luckily, I can just leave the glass out, but I want to figure that out.
@arev Thank you!
@silentheart00 I used the color picker from the color node on the car which was loaded into the UV editor. Pretty cool.
@silentheart00 Ok, that makes sense. Will do. Thanks!
@theluthier I see. Thank you for the pointers! The soft lights is a facepalm as I should have known that.
