I actually can see you in the sculpt. It looks like an older, caricatured version of yourself. I think you’ve done a good job choosing which features to exaggerate – nice work! It’s an A in my book.
Awesome choice of concept art! He’ll be a fun one to model 🤘
Your sculpt is looking good @silver0199! Could you post an image of yourself so we can compare the features?
Love it!
I’m sorry to hear you gave up on the caricature..they can be hard and frustrating, especially if you feel you work and work but don’t see progress. I think you’re headed in the right direction with this sculpt. Morgan Freeman is a good choice – nice features available to emphasize. And you’ve accomplished most anatomy and structures well enough. They just need pushing in the right direction to achieve an exaggerated likeness.
Thanks for sharing! And I look forward to seeing the concept art you illustrate.
I knew the render would not dissapoint! Great stuff, Cody. Love the hair.
And excellent choice of concept art. I’ve always loved this character from Tim. It’ll look awesome in 3D.
Homework Submission Week 1:

Hopefully someone will recognize this person…
For the concept art I chose a character I’ve been trying to create on and off for years, which means I have generated a ridiculous number of sketches, models and sculpts, trying to ‘find’ the character. I’ve reduced those pieces down to a recent sketch and a ‘tv’ version.

This turned out great, Mark! I’m so impressed that this is your first time sculpting a face to this degree. And a caricature no less. You chose wisely in terms of features to exaggerate. Your sculpt definitely resembles your friend.
While yes, there are some areas that can be refined/polished, you’ve accomplished a caricatured likeness quite well. Nice work – It’s an A in my book.
Sure, if you’re illustrating your own character, it’s fine to submit with next week’s homework. So long as you have time to both illustrate and sculpt 😅
Excellent job with the caricature! At least in terms of quality and going the extra mile with a color texture. I feel like the person is on the tip of my tongue…she definitely looks familiar…but I’m not coming up with the name! Who is it? Or don’t answer and give more time for guessing 🙂
Very cool original concept art too! She’ll be great for this class 👌
Really like the sculpt; the eyes in particular look really nice. Immediately saw Kristen Stewart. Hope I I’m close to the mark.
Homework Submission Week 1
Mr. Seinfeld inspired by his show about Jokers in Jalopies getting Java.

I sculpted David McCallum, or you may know him as Ducky from NCIS. This is only my second sculpt besides Melvin, and my first human sculpt. The only problems I had were with the eyes and esrs, otherwise it went well.

Homework Submission part 2, Concept Art:
I decided to use one of the characters I have planned for a story that I had on my head for a long time. This is Bianca:

She’s not the main character, nor is she part of the main conflict. She’s that type of character that shows up in a teaser after the credits roll. She’s very special to me, she’s based on a dear pet of mine who had been with me for many, many years.
She also has a cloak that covers her whole body, but that would be cheating. Maybe I’ll add some armor…
Back to the assignment: Because I plan to use this story for a videogame, she is supposed to be a boss with multiple phases, so she has: human-form->Mad Beast form->TrueForm, and if the player chooses to “save” her and add her to the party-> Depowered Form, which is the one I decided to (terribly) draw.
Before starting drawing, while looking on Pinterest for inspiration I stumbled upon this beautiful piece of art that actually shocked me at how much it resembled what I had on my mind for her human face (Or maybe I’m not as good at designing original characters as I though):

(Cyber Candy Girls Bloo by MoonlightOrange)
Really cool clothes, but I’ll keep the trusty old cloak. Maybe I’ll add more details…
Also the pose is lovely, so I used it as a help guide (I suck at drawing, took me 3 days and I can’t even draw simple hands). Now I can do 2 out of 4 modes! Although I’ll probably try to make the one from my concept shorter and as cute as Nanachi (from Made in Abyss) so is not just a face swap:

Pinterest is a really cool place you know?
Ha! That’s a brilliant caricature!
Amazing caricature! Your sculpting skills are off the charts!
Here’s my caricature: Tamara Rojo. I tried really exaggerating, to push myself out of my comfort zone, and yeah, it’s a bit comical. I really wanted to focus on the high cheek bones and really push them. Big cheeks, small chin, small nose, big eyes was what I was going for. Probably not exactly what I should’ve done, but hey, nothing ventured, nothing gained.
My reference sheet.

My sculpt:
Aaaaaaaaannnnnnd then I noticed the second part of the assignment, sooooo here’s something I had on the back burner, a character based on triangles. Triangles tend to bring up feelings associated with sharp things, angular, aggressive, maybe? Abrasive? Something sharp and pointy, so a sharp and pointy character.
