…and now I’ve hit another roadblock.  The collection instance is what is animated, but whenever I try to hide/move the actual rocket (which is not animated), the instance get hidden/moved too.  I’ve tried unparenting the instance and making it a single user, but it doesn’t work.  I tried moving the “real” rocket and then moving the instance back, but the empty and the rocket got moved out of sync in weird ways.  Nothing seems to work.

I fixed it!  I suppose I should have been paying more attention to the videos; Some of them were watched at 2x speed.

If all goes well, it should be completely rendered by tomorrow afternoon.

            Well…

I spent nine hours rendering this:

Oh well. I wasn’t happy with the color scheme anyway; I’ll change it to something less dull.

              Excuse time!

I spent yesterday with no time or internet access and the day before yesterday editing my latest Youtube video (Just an Ordinary Nursery Rhyme).  That is why you haven’t seen anything from me for a while.

I wasted more render time by not clicking the right buttons.

I feel your pain. But learning process right? Next time you won’t hit the wrong ones. 😉 You tweaking your rocket render or you have something new brewing?

I took the first failure as an opportunity to improve the materials, but now I’m just trying to make it work so I can get this project over with.

                      Finally, I can breathe.

…until tomorrow.  Then I’ll do the same thing, except with fireworks.  Hopefully I won’t make the same silly mistakes I made this time.

I didn’t have very much time to do stuff yesterday because I was at a party for a while, and when I came home my brother started playing Undertale on my computer.  This is what I got done today:

That’s a great result on the rocket! Good luck with the firework 🎆

Does anyone know what firework launchers look like?  I couldn’t find any pictures.

I used shape keys, particles, and a curve modifier to make an animated fuse.

What do you think of these materials?

If this were Cycles, the sparks would turn red as they died.

I really like it. Are you adding this on to your rocket scene or will this be a separate project from it?
