@malhomsi I remember this one! Would you mind if I poked around the file for the critique so I can mess with lighting and camera angles?

experiment i did last december. what i set out todo was submarine in space warp/wormhole. the render itself was more bland in colors and in blender compositor i pushed the colors out more. yet, i’m unsure if its actually working or not.

clearly main motivation was to make something cool, and thats highly subjective. 🙂 so feel free to tear everything up. 🙂

            Yey, another critique!

I submitted a similar one a while ago in the gallery and changed it a bit since then(added a corridor on the left).

I’ve been struggling on how to find a good balance with surface imperfections, stains and so on: usually in architecture magazine and real estate webpages it’s almost pristine, yet not without imperfection. That subbtleness is tricky to reach, I find.

Any advice on the composition is welcome as well!

There’s couple of extra pictures for the leather sofa and the armchair here:

There’s another exemple of interior design render I did more recently and the struggles I’m facing are similar:

@tbrbn It’s a lot better than it was the last time I saw it.

                    Hi every one !

I would like to submit one of my recent work :

I was looking to make something “photorealist”  and pratice my modeling skill, so I modeled everything in that scene, looking for reference on internet.

Even though I’m quite happy with the result, i think it lacks something to approch “photorealism”, and i would be glad to hear your comments and advices.

                    Thank you in advance!

@ataru Awesome work @ataru! Be prepared for some pixel-level nitpicking critique, since it’s already quite good 😊

                        Hi,

Since some weeks, i have been working on a level i imagined for an adventure game. I would be glad to hear your comments and critics about it !

                        https://www.cgcookie.com/u/asifh/projects/the-hidden-base

I tried to create a kind of underground base connected to a cave.
The ambiance is supposed to be dark and mysterious.
I was not looking for photorealistic result but i easily found photorealistic textures that gave great looking walls and floor. So i have now a mix of very realistic looking parts and quite basic materials for liquids, lights, computers, …

I can put more screenshot if needed. But impossible to make a video, it takes too long to render it in a decent format.

                        Thanks 🙂

@asifh I think there’s enough images in the project for a good critique. Thanks for submitting!

@theluthier no problem ! Will there be an agenda on which order the artwork are going to be critiqued ?

@malhomsi Hmm, I’m not sure if that would work, but I can give it a try!

Hi there, I’ve been learning blender her for a while now, though I don’t often post work this seems like a great way to get some feedback i hope I can catch the streams now.

So in the past few days I put this scene together, I modeled everything but the chairs, I’m using textures from Poliigon I’m hoping they provide that photoreal effect.

I’ve been thinking I might produce props for sale on the market, and I want to know if my work is up to snuff.

Is it also allowed to submit a render of just one 3d model, with feedback more focused on the topology?
