I nearly missed this update – Huge improvement @arcangel_zero7! I can absolutely recognize Benedict in this iteration. Hats off to you for receiving and applying the feedback along the way. Great job!

Wow, nearly missed this updated submission as well. This latest version is a notable improvement. Really nice work @jakeblended! The wisely chose the right features to emphasize and the caricature is more recognizable for it. Also kudos on the details like facial stubble and scalo hair. They really serve to finalize the head.

You’ve earned an A in my book 👏

And no I did not know about this comic version of the film classic. Very interesting. And a good choice for the remainder of this class. Hopefully you can find additional images from the comic to inform the character from other angles.

Wow, another one @malhomsi?! Who wouldn’t be able to tell this was Clint Eastwood? 🤠

Great work! You really have a knack for these caricatures. I’m glad you’ve enjoyed the exercise.

Ach!  Well, it was *supposed* to be Emma Watson.  However even while I was sculpting it, I thought it looked like Kristen Stewart.  Perhaps subconsciously my mind was guiding the stylus, “No, what you WANT to sculpt is Kristen Stewart…let me help you…”

Thanks for the kind feedback, all!

Thanks! ArtStation seems great, 5 seconds in and I saved 50 images ha!

I have a lot of lore for her, the hard part will be to have it make sense without talking about a lot of the other stories and characters ha!

Thanks for the selfie. Seeing that now, yeah, you did a great job with caricature! I can recognize you in the emphasized features. It’s an A for me 👍

There’s enough in your sketch to work fine for the 3D version. If you contact the artists that put their work online, I think you’ll fine that they’re usually more than happy for you to use their concept for creating a 3D version. It would only be weird if you tried to profit from their art without their permission. But I feel like it would take a special person to try that…

I know I’m super late but I still wanted to submit this. I shouldn’t miss anymore homework hopefully.

It’s not done but it still fills the requirements, plus the next class starts in an hour lol. Here it is. I also practiced modelling hair at the same time, two for one.

                      Week 1: Homework

I had a hard time finding features to exaggerate.

Sorry to have missed the stream.  The thread is getting so long! Is there an easy way to check for an archive later? Is there any homework?

                            Week 1 Homework Submission

It’s late, but I had a go at sculpting Bubbles during the livestream today. It was my first attempt at any sort of likeness, and while it’s not quite there, I’m pretty happy with the result. Let me know what could be improved 🙂

Edit: now that I look at it again I’m getting a bit of a Jay Leno vibe haha

not bad at all Matt , u got the likeness well and the exageration is obvious!

                                Hi @Hypester77 Paul,

if you mean the archive for the stream, yep you can watch it again.

After 24/48 hours it is generally available, if you look at the events page, and select the past events.
                                https://cgcookie.com/events?status=archived

once it has been archived in a day or so, it will appear there and you can rewatch.

the homework that I’m aware of is also listed at the top post of this thread under week 2.

hope that helps a wee bit.

Well done Matt! I think it really looks like him, i like how you exaggerated the jaw to make him more angry (angry is not quite the word i was looking for but i don’t know enough english for it 🙁 ), and those big starring eyes as well!

One thing i would add is more of a rectangular shape to the face with a bigger forehead, in the scultpure it looks a little bit smaller than in the picture in my opinion.

You certainly did a better homework than me though! Good work!
