        Week 1 – Homework Submission – Modeling with Primitives  (1)

        I’ve got some experience with blender so it was primarily learning blender 2.8. It was a fun experience working around the bugs. Other than that I learned how much better your model  becomes when working from reference pictures.

        I know we dont have to upload to sketchfab, but if you want to there’s a couple of ways you can go:

        • You can export to a Alembic (.abc) file and import that on the SketchFab website.
        • You could try to copy your model and past it in Bender 2.79b, and then upload the model via the SketchFab plugin. I’ve seen Pablo Vazquez (Blender Today) paste entire scene’s in his video’s a couple of times and it worked for him. I tested it with this model and it did work, it just didn’t copy the boolean modifiers.

        Here you can download the blendfile from my NAS. (Let me know if that doesn’t work for you)

        And here’s a link to my SketchFab model.

          Nice!  I really like the colors you chose; feels cohesive. Really nice details, too, like the barrels.

          And thanks for the tips!

              It was modeled after these:

              Placing images inline (next to each other) doesn’t seem to work 🙁

                Wow, the resemblance is spot on! 😁

                    Said it before and I’ll say it again, utterly great model! The materials – despite being simple as we were instructed – really make it pop.

                       This makes me want to go back and keep practicing using primitives lol.  Nice job.

                            The materials are so simple but looks so good ! Well done 🙂

                              @galledark Thanks. I did cheat a bit. I used the color picker to pick to colors from the photo’s.

                                @carrotnl Thanks for [re]posting this submission here in your own thread. Again, great work on this primitives-only model! And thanks for sharing tips about getting to sketchfab from 2.8. It’s an A this week, nodoubtaboutit.

                                  @theluthier Thank you very much.

                                  I’m working on a simple scene now. If it works out, can I post it here (not for grading persé), or am I to only submit one homework piece only?
