Blender pays his bills, he’s got whole day long to fiddle on the roof.

I know those modifiers but I don’t see how to make wrinkles in a pants with them. The only modifier I know that can do that is the displacement modifier but I will also end up with a lot of verts.

The holy mouse has merci on me today, it is raining and I’m at home. I can work hole day on my dragon mouse. (I’m a bricklayer)

My GPU does not render your source files. CUDA out of memory. I have a GeForce GTX 980

Check out the Ram loading when BVh is building.
With your 4GB of Video RAM, I believe that you won’t be able to render anything beyond 3GB.

You may consider switching to CPU.
switch performances to with tiles of 32×32

                  Mem 3892.99 Peak 3916.96

                  32×32 didn’t work.

I bought this card 3 years ago. For the same price I could’ve had a card with 8GB. Didn’t know then, but I know now that Blender needs a lot of GB’s

I’ve learned an expensive lesson 🙁

I meant, when using CPU, tiles of 32×32 are way better than the GPU 256×256.

I’m sorry about that. In my daily work, I’d favorise High ram loaded graphic card to avoid this kind of problem. I have the chance and the needs to be well equiped so…

8GB is great, I may have reached CUDA saturation on scuh a card once or twice but it was mostly because of non optimised scene.
But running up to 5GB is quitecommon and as screens get bigger and bigger, their need for RAM also increase so…

EVGA and Zotac make affordable 6GB nvidia cards. The 8GB treshold is quite pricy indeed.
(Hope you’ll have a mary christmas)

Hey, @pieriko. Thanks for the shout out on your channel. I really appreciate it. I have not been to these forums for a few days so I missed some of this conversation. Sorry about that. Luckily your IK video came up on my youtube feed, so I saw it soon after you posted it.

It looks like we both tackled the “Soft IK” idea at the same time, both posting videos within a few hours of each other.

I’d love to take a look at the course and stress test the rig. Send me a PM at BlenderArtists and we can swap contact info.

Currently I am working on an “advanced” foot roll rig with adjustable pivots. This rig should help when changing footwear for characters. (Going from bare feet to high heels.)

                        Good luck!

                          Hi @theluthier

I’m realy happy you dropped some words here.
You hear that oftenly but you realy inspired me when I was a rookie blender user and the Piero course was a huge milestone for me.

Few days ago, during the stram you respond to the riggin course dev I’m on and, even if I think this won’t be a commercial success as rigging is not super popular, I realy hope to make it a good reference for blender users.

I was wondering if you had 20 minutes to chill watching these 2 videos I did recently as I believe this mechanic is cool and I’d like to have some of your insight on my tutoring flow. That would be highly appreciated.

Great video and technique @pieriko – Thanks for sharing. Rigging might be more popular than you think. We get requests for rigging courses a lot. I hope yours is a commercial success! You’ve certainly got the skills.

It’s very rewarding to hear that the Piero course was a milestone for you 🙂

This is what I made of it.

                                  Forearm plates are realy nice.
I also like shoulder plade but you shouldt wrap them with a leather stuff around the arm…. I don’t know, maybe you got nice references of samourai armour to achieve this. Whatever, try to make it as “realistic” mechanicaly wise, it will realy help for rigging.

Lot of weapons to rig too 😀
