@sheila5 @splat21 Yes we are supposed to flow the artwork. I was merely trying to share some reference to help with building the cart model (Example: seeing how the axle is connected to cart underneath, because we can’t see underneath in the artwork), not making a totally different cart.
      Sorry for any confusion.

And yes the cart as painted in the reference could be meant to be a hand-cart, but I don’t know why or if any hand-carts would have a bench-seat in them. @createtaiwan @duerer It seems to be a blend between a horse-cart and a hand-cart, which is unintentionally annoying for those planning to model it. Such is the modeller’s lot I guess.

@createtaiwan I provided some homework submission instructions in an announcement post in the HQ thread.

The bench-seat is for me an indicator that this cart is moved by a bigger animal. Another indicator is that the shafts seem to be too far apart from each other for a man. Maybe it’s for a donkey 😉?

First off, I LOVE seeing how you two are visualizing and thinking-through this fence structure. That’s the kind of resourcefulness we need!

Honestly there will be a lot to interpret about how the fence is laid out. The ground will dictate much of it and I’m not even finished blocking the ground out yet. And I never expected you to have to figure that all out. If you think of your fence in terms of lego pieces, it will make my job of assembling the fence easy.

@amblender I love the idea of adding compartments to the unseen sides of the crate. You’re introducing function while staying true to what we see in the art. High level interpretation and I love it!

Both name ideas are great! Shabby Chic’s easier pronunciation gives it a slight edge for me. I’m going to update the thread title with that but I’ll happily update it if another name is brainstormed and decided upon!

EDIT: Then I asked myself why update the title right now? Ignore me, I’ll give it more time as @duerer stated.

Signing in here now that I’ve been confirmed for one of the vases (officially Vase B, but I see at least five vases on that crate alone so I imagine everyone’s submissions will be distributed as needed).

Welcome to the team, Matthew @hunter-x  😀! You’re absolutely right counting 5 vases in total with  some slight variations in size and form:

If I remember correctly then @theluthier said during the livestream that the number of vases can be raised if needed but for the time being we stick with three of them. The vases can get some ornament later. The cones on top of the vases look to me like the spices.

Hi people, I’ve also applied for the crate. Hope I nail it 😀

How should the frame of the crate be constructed?

1)the corners at an angle (upper corners)

                          2) straight planks (my prefered version)

                          3) one piece

Hey everyone, I started the barrel. If anybody has a moment any & all positive or critical feedback would be really helpful in helping me finalize a blockout before taking it to sculpting https://blog.cgcookie.com/forums/topic/questions-about-the-cubicity-asset-library/

Or a dog, there used to be dog carts. Children can sit on it

Looks really nice IMO! Seems to match the reference pretty well too!
