Hey Stan Dalones, the team is looking good! Unfortunately had nothing from @blendernan, @isildu, @prabhjot, and @the3dbanana and decided to leave them out of this week’s poster rather than repeating week 1 progress.

@vincav81 @splat21 @sheila5 I totally agree, I really like all of the carts – each one has something different and special. Actually I thought the idea that @theluthier mentioned in the stream yesterday of using a different cart for different shots pretty good. 

Looking back at the mutual support and camaraderie within the team ‘cart’ I really like the idea of giving each submission a highlight in the final animation. I also had the totally crazy idea of doing a small cart racing animation with Melvin and some donkeys with our carts…

To my fellow cart creators:  I agree, there has been great camaraderie amongst this sub-team.  Regrettably, I am very far behind on my cart.  I will complete my project, but just not on time.  My priority has been posting “showcasings” in the Blog.  Which, has given me a great opportunity to peak at everyone’s assets and progress.  There is some really good artwork out there.  

If we do have an animation of a cart chariot race, then I am afraid my cart will remain frozen at the start line.  You see, I didn’t spare the extra vertices to put a hole for the axle in my braces.  If the animation follows physics, that axle simply won’t move.  However, I look forward to seeing how the other carts fare.  😁

@splat21 If we do end up making some sort of “Melvin-Kart” game, I imagine it would probably be just some looping animations and walk-cycles connected to an Empty object and then animated around the race course Curve object. Like a really early style video game. So there’d be no problem with any lack of holes in anyone’s geometry. Unless Kent has a better idea for such a feat.

Man I love those spice vases. I would have never come up with so much detail. And the bridges, wow. Everyone has done so much good work. My cart is finally finished and no it’s not perfect. But at least I came to a sort of final result. 

@splat21, yeh lets make Melvin race the carts ! ps we can use machine learning for that in unity

@elubie, @vincav81, @ullreym. @splat21 and @sheila5 I very much like the idea of a Melvin-Donkeys-Cart-Race 😀! I also thank everybody here in the team for the wonderful camaraderie as well as the excellent assets created and hope that we can keep this team spirit for future projects, maybe in Omar’s @dostovel “House Interior Assets” team in May or in the next Collab 😀! I’m very proud of all team members 😀👍!!!

PS: @splat21 I didn’t forget your interview! I’m currently just occupied with taming a renitent chimney 😉😁!
