I have an M.S. in experimental physics. I am not stranger to aggravating problems.
No. It was being in orthographic view. I change things to perspective view and now it’s fine. It took me hours to figure that out. No screenshots. I am anti-screen shot. Rivet snapping on the edge instead of the bottom. No screenshot necessary.
Yes. For anyone reading this and still not clear – To see the stretch, check the Display Stretch box in the overlays dropdown of the UV editor window for newer versions of Blender (3.2).
Yes, but no as my old friend, Mike, used to say. I think it depends on the point you are working on and the axis you are moving it on.
I woke up this morning and before seeing this post, was actually thinking that with all of the topics covered in this tutorial, that it would be a great course to recommend AFTER the little gameboy model. Yes, there are some things I think could be done a little better. Occasionally, I don’t think the instructor explains the process of how to do something with quite enough detail. But I have been modeling for about 6 months and I can usually figure out what I am doing wrong on my own and if not, then there is ample help here in the comments. I find that people here whether they are employed by CGCookie or not will answer questions and try to help you quite quickly. Yes, 3D modeling just like anything with computers can be very frustrating at times. Has anyone here ever used Microsoft Word??? So while the course isn’t perfect, it is certainly worthwhile. I am looking forward to finishing this up because the foundations here are gonna give me enough info to finish up a lot of projects that I have saved but felt like they are not quite done. Thanks, Kent.
Yeah. I had changed the order of the modifiers. Don’t worry about it. There isn’t anything seriously wrong with my model. Except…I am I supposed to have 66 extra vertices after doing solidify. That certainly didn’t seem right. No, this is like the cleanest model I ever made. It’s all fixed now anyway. So I can’t do a screenshot ’cause I am already way past there. I am on the lock and I had started MY lock before I even started the video where he did that so mine is a bit different. I have been modeling since May so if I am having problems, I can usually figure it out. Thanks for the advice/help/feedback though.
Yep. Thanks. I finally found it. The answer is “split”. Here is comprehensive hotkey reference for whoever wants it.

I just wanted to say that the “extrude along normals” option under extrude in the tool menu is what I’ve always used. I really like the yellow handle that you pull on. Then I always set the extrusion depth to be some even number in the operations box.
Umm. 2022 now. Was it available again and now unavailable? Supply chain thing?
Yep. I DID find that after searching on the internet for a while. Thanks. But I also discovered a lot of other resources that CGCookie has on offer to download so I am happy about that.
How DO you download the individual videos? Because this is something I have been meaning to do. Good thing I take notes. I thought I could eventually download the stuff I have watched but I guess I have to do it video by video?
