She’s definitely looking quite scary with those long nails Michael!

I like being able to see her silhouette through her gown, that’s a nice touch. How did you go about making the gown, was that a cloth sim you ran?

Yes, in a way. I went for that usual Cloth + Collision routine but since I wanted that tunic to be shaped in a specific way I had to find a better solution for it. So I combined two cloths eventually. One of them was shrink-wrapped and manually tweaked and another one was simulated. After that I fixed some lines and folds.

And I like these nails too) And her pitch black eyes.
Actually, I am thinking about her brows and eyelashes right now. While modeling her big savage whip.

It takes longer than I expected (as usual :)) But I am loving it! Damn, is there anything better than creating a thing?
Hopefully, she wouldn’t turn out too morbid and cruel.

But she is a demon after all and a nasty one.

Really like these horns:

Probably I’ll add some blueish tint to these horns. I switched color scheme from main red to main blue since blue means more mystery in my book)
And that baby looks so wow and so mysterious.

Yes, these horns simply stole the show. Probably, I should have gone for that face a bit more. But I’ll leave it for HUMAN course I guess. I’ve captured the mood and I’m quite happy about it. Although some pretty obvious mistakes were made and — again — I rushed it a bit. Gonna do something pretty and simple. And maybe you — or anybody — would be able to help me with that?

Another whale (blue whale this time).
Candles and a match (I’ve been picturing that idea for ages tbh).

Is this the blue whale that you mentioned in the previous post?

Actually I have a full set of them: humpback is done (although I’d like to give it another textures set). Blue whale + sperm whale + orca + white shark. And a few special ones like Megalodon or Melville’s Leviathan.
And I’d like to dive into anatomy too) starting with the beating heart.
Plus archetypes I mentioned before)
Well, I really love art / 3d world and there is so much to learn!

Step 1: Sculpting.

For some reason that blue whale is way harder to sculpt although it looks way simpler than humpback one.

What’s making it harder to sculpt this time Michael? Is it the length perhaps?

I think the reason is its simplicity. That humpback whale has so many bumps, scars, marks on it:

It is really easy to make something interesting out of it. Its a good material to work with in a visual sense.

Now compare it to the blue whale:

I guess that’s the problem.
I don’t want to drift too far away from the nature and original look of that whale but that form feels a bit boring / blunt so far.
Well, except for the eye. Eye looks fine.

Yeah, sometimes simpler is not always easier. I’ve got a feeling that when you come to the texturing stage the model will come to life more, and look more appealing. There’s some interesting colour variations and patterns on the skin that you could incorporate perhaps.

Step 3: Texturing. Layer after layer. I’m loving that stage so much!
