      I think those two specific links I’ll aim for for my next revision. But we can also try an even rougher appearance which would make it look even softer. Thank you.

        @ironsoul Excellent work ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‘! I agree with @clementk to add a little bit more roughness as in this glazed terracotta pot here from @clementk ‘s search results above.

          Homework Submission – Week 4 – F: Vase B – some tweaks

          @theluthier @duerer

          This is my week 4 submission. I pulled down the roughness quite a lot but still left that slight sheen you see on terracotta pots.

          I also reduced the normal strength a little.

          I reshaped the base a bit as well.

          Finally I redid the colour layer to be a mottled terracotta pattern.

          You can consider this my final submission for the collab for grading, although I am going to continue to make vases until I have mastered the process because I am not 100% satisfied with this. If I were to grade myself I would give it a 30% satisfaction.

          I definitely see value in redoing the vase workflow in order to improve further which will also give me transferrable skills to other types of models.

          Thank you very much for this collaboration experience, I hope we can do another one (with some tweaks to the process to make it better) this year because I truly believe the collaboration format is the best way for beginners and experts alike to build the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the cg world.

          I’ll be around.

              @ironsoul Great work, @ironsoul ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‘! Creating such an asset and making it look well, isn’t easy, but you went through the whole process and created a beautiful vase! I’m looking forward to your next creations and to the next collaboration with you๐Ÿ˜€! I agree with you that such a collaboration helps developing the own skills๐Ÿ˜€!

                  @ironsoul I think you finished strong! Your vase looks solid in the assembly:

                  It’s a little on the simple side but still 100% fits the scene and style. The normal works really nice. You’ve earned full points in my book even though you’re only 30% satisfied.

                  I love your attitude as in closing out Collab2021! Redoing the vase – and anything – is always better the second time. More power to you.

                  Thanks for joining the project! It’s been a pleasure working with you ๐Ÿค

                    @ironsoul Your completed vase is looking great ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‘! It fits in perfectly with the house environment and especially with the crate ๐Ÿ˜€! I very much enjoyed the work with you in the “Stan Dalones” team and so I’m looking forward to your next project ๐Ÿ˜€!
