Love the Dalek! 😀
You’re doing great with the sculpting. Like I said on the main class thread, especially if it’s your first time, it can take a while to get the likeness to look right. The first sculpt that I got serious about doing right I think I spent at least 20-30 hours (if not twice that) before it really started looking like I wanted it to — and there were many hours spent tweaking here, redoing this, redoing that, before I finally figured out how to get it to look right. In the end, though, it was worth it because others haven’t taken me anywhere near as long to reach at least recognizability.
One thing that can help is to study proportions. Unless you’re doing this for stylistic reasons, the eyes are way up high on the head, which is probably at least part of why this feels off to you, and I think other features are “larger” to compensate for the eyes being too far up. Eyes are typically about halfway between the chin and the top of the head.
As for the mouth.. that’s one area I still struggle with a lot myself , though hopefully I’m getting better at them 😀
Keep it up!
