Again, sorry for being so late. Here comes 3 weeks of feedback 🙂
Week 1
Kudos for exploring Eevee with the toy truck exercise in week 1. I feel that Cycles has a slight edge in realism over you Eevee one but not by much. Truck definitely feels plasticky in both.
I don’t have any significant criticism of your day time bedroom scene. Looks believable to me and appropriately colored (or desaturated) according to the seemingly overcast environment in the window. Your bedside lamp in the night scene is a little too strong imo. It’s illuminating the brightly all by itself. I do like the warmth in contrast with the bluish moonlight.
Adding in the additional effort of the light match, you’ve earned an A+ in my book for week 1.
Week 2
Your light match is very close to the source. The only thing that’s missing imo is the subtle red fill light coming from the right. It’s most apparent on the edge of the axe blade and under the skirt around the character’s left knee. It’s quite subtle but noticeable the more I look at it. Interesting choice to go with red there…I wouldn’t have thought of that. It’s a B on that one for me.
Your beetle made my favorites as I remember. I like the variety of reflections especially. It really helps to establish the objects into the believability/tangibility zone. A
Week 3
3 characters this week? Way to take the easy way out Grady… 😅 Yeah right, you did a ton of work. I like your Sintel version. The pink and teal work well together, both in lighting and material colors. Vincent looks good aside from the yellowy-green bg/floor color. They don’t jive as well as they could. I swapped in a purply pink which works a little better imo:
Victor has a similar issue, but I didn’t swap out the color for a new background. I love the 3 rendered together! Nice group shot, good lighting to go with it. Oh and the SSS looks pretty good. Not too translucent nor is it too subtle. Only note from me is that Vincent is a touch shiny on his arms.
Finally, your light match is super close to the source. Hard to believe they’re not different models rendered in the same scene. Good job!
