One more thing. I’ve just learned some cheapo wireless numpads don’t in fact issue true numpad codes. Instead they “regurgitate” the alphanumeric equivalents of the intended num commands. Does that interfere with Blender somehow?
In case anyone’s annoyed by the “tilde doesn’t show on first hit, then two ~~ show up” issue – it’s called dead keys. To disable it you need to create a custom keyboard layout using MSKLC from Microsoft.
