I was just wondering if the holes could be made to one half and mirrored instead of doing it for the full front face. Are there any disadvantages to doing so? Placing the holes to get a good symmetry might be a bit tedious, but is there any other disadvantage?

Not really, I can’t see any disadvantages. Usually in Blender there is no right or wrong way, just a preferred way. There might be some method more beneficial or useful than the other, lots of times is just a matter pf preference, but if it works it works, and people do it differently all the time.

          Hi Arvind @argar6argvin6 ,

With the given hole pattern, the center line will give you problems (half holes):
