Why are these squares showing up?

So I made a sapling tree and chose all of the settings that I wanted. I made a branch and used duplifaces to spawn the branches. But now these cubes are showing up and whenever I delete them they delete the branch. Ive already tried removing the parents.
Did you uncheck “Show Instancer” for “Viewport” and “Rendering” in the “Object Tab” of your instancing object?
