I can’t…I don’t…I’m not…okay look, I don’t have a photographic memory, you can’t possibly expect every person to remember every conceivable detail of every video.

I know for sure, some video somewhere on CG-cookie, said something about “smudges” and a specific website for them, maps from realistic finger prints and a place to download them. Where? I have no clue at all in any capacity, that’s why I recommend having searchable video transcripts, and also, meta-tagging each video.

The Fundamentals of Texturing Courses have a Lesson on where to find Textures.

I remember, that Poliigon specifically, has smudges, scratches and so.

This is why we all take notes, either by hand or on an application designed with that purpose. No one can remember everything there is to remember in Blender. We also all keep folders with a huge collection of textures, we organize said folders so when we need a smudge textures we have access to it. Start making your own library of assets, for models, textures, etc.
