Whenever I try using the lasso mask tool or the box select mask tool, the selection goes through the mesh and onto the other side. I don’t have this issue when using the mask brush, just when I use the selection methods. In a last ditch effort, I’ve tried turning the “front faces only” option for the mask brush, as well as turning off all symmetry, neither of which had an effect. Is there some sort of “occlude” option I need to select, similar to the occlude option with texture painting?

I believe Lasso Mask and Box select mask are unable to ignore backfaces. As in it’s always going to select all the way through.
