WBW Series: How do I delete the default cube in Blender?

You fire up Blender and it gives you the gift of the default cube.  You can take that cube and turn it into greatness, like in this course that leads you through the Fundamentals of 3D Mesh Modeling in Blender turning your default cube into a low poly bedroom.  

But what is you want to blank slate?  How do you delete the default cube in Blender?

Press “T” on your keyboard to toggle the tools panel
Click the arrow on the top left for your selection tool
Click the cube to select it
Press “X” on your keyboard and delete the cube!

Another option is:
Select the cube in the outliner (on the right side)
Right click and select “delete”
