Video not pausing on iPad

When I try and pause any learning video on my iPad, while following along and working off of my laptop, the video doesn’t stop (or very occasionally it might).  It says its paused but carries on playing with no audio making it almost impossible to follow.

Anything I can do to prevent this?

I’m missing some (technical background) data like:
– How do you watch videos on you IPad?
– Which Internet browser (and plug-ins) do you use to gain access to CGCookie website?
– What type of video playing device / software are you using on your IPad?

Just using standard Chrome or Safari browser with no plugins on the iPad. The cgcookie website launches the video playback without me selecting anything specific.

Issue mainly happens if you skip back 15 secs (just so something could be repeated) and then pause to do the action it doesn’t stop
