@ollavulpes You are in luck! As of yesterday/s daily build, the option to set Spacebar back to search is there in the User Preferences – which, by the way, has now been renamed to Settings.
Also, the option of whether to use Left or Right click select, as well as whether to use Space for Tools, Search, or Playback, are now presented in the splash-screen when you open Blender 2.8 for the very first time.
If you’ve been experimenting with 2.8 builds for a while, in order to see the “first time” splash screen you will need to delete the prefs files that Blender has already created on your C drive. You can do this in Windows by going to your username directory’s AppData folder. Go to [username directory]/AppData/Roaming/Blender Foundation/Blender/ and delete the entire 2.80 folder there. I don’t know where these files can be found on Mac or Linux I’m afraid….
