Yo you all. what I trying to do is design items for example a piece of jewelry using Blender. From there send the file to be cut on a 4 axis cnc machine. I don’t even know what that process of drawing in Blender is called, 3D modeling ?? Is there anyone that can point me in the direction I want to ?? sincerely thank you, Cary
Hello. Yes that would be 3D modeling, you have to learn how to model in 3D if you want to make things for 3D printing. Here’s a list of courses starting from the very basics and then ramping up:
every video I’ve watched, they all talk about 3D printer. As far as drawing in 3D molding it’s the same ? I’ll just be exporting the file to a cnc machine, not a 3D printer, yes ??
So if you’re not printing on a 3D printer, if you’re cutting in one of those machines, then you probably don’t even need 3D or Blender, mostly a vector program like Adobe Illustrator can do the trick I guess.
He means that after you add you image, you can try to let Blender trace it for you. In the menu up top, go to Object, then Convert and then Trace Imagine to Grease Pencil.
CG Cookie did that a while back, Office Hours it was called, but it got canceled. Your best bet would be to try the Discord channel, there people sometimes hop into calls.
