Hi guys. I ran into a bit of an issue here trying to add a text object to a rounded and slanted surface (between red lines) and ran out of ideas. I’ve tried shrinkwrap and curve modifier as the obvious choices so far but to no avail. Might be using the wrong settings. Anyone got a tip on how I can achieve it?

        Hi Sascha,

        The Curve Modifier should work:

You con go into edit mode on the surface you are trying to get the profile in, select the edges that have said profile or curve, duplicate them, P to separate the selection and then after they are their own object, right click and convert to curve. That way you have the curve to put the text on without having to fiddle too much.

Thanks so much guys, got it working. Duplicated the faces like Omar suggested, made an edge loop along the middle and turned it into a curve. Still had to move the text around weirdly to get it into position. Do the origins have to be in the same place?

              Hi Sascha,

I’m glad you got it working!

And yes, it is best to have the Origins of the Text in the same place as the Curve.Otherwise you can get weird, usually unwanted deformations in the Text.

Weird is where I thrive lol

I’ll make sure about the origins next time for sure.
