Strange edge loop

Hello everyone) Anyone have any idea how this edge loop came about?

I followed the tutorial step by step, and when I wanted to add an edge loop in the middle, a “snake” appeared in the middle,  separately  on the left, and also reached out to the pillar. And between the pillar and the house, a triangle face was formed. 

And how to add one edge loop in the middle now?

Interesting, I’m not sure how it formed in the first place, but you should be able to slide the vertices around the pillar upwards to meet the others and then remove doubles to get back to normal.

You gave me the right direction!) For some reason, the lower edge was duplicated, so such a monster appeared. I removed the extra vertices – and everything is okay. Thank you)
