Stencil Not Showing up

Hey i’ve come into a bit of a problem unsure how to go about it. 

The stencil is not showing up after following the steps in the POTHEAD course. It worked for the surface hot stencil. can anyone help?

Hello. Can you give us more context? There is a lot that can be going on. Give us a time stamp and video in the course of the part you were following. Tell us the steps you were doing yourself, so we can see where the issue might be.

But my first guess would be, that you are painting on the wrong Layer, so you can’t see the result.

Try and find what you did different from the “hot surface” Stamp.

Maybe watch https://cgcookie.com/lessons/understanding-masking  from the new CORE Course, to get a different explanation of Masking; that can often be very helpful.

hey both, following the time stamp 17:53 for creating a painted metal layer. I followed the steps, however didn’t save the stamp brush when doing the “surface hot” section. Unsure if that really makes a difference or not. When following the steps where Jonathan explains that anything above .75 in the colour picker stroke which extrudes out, anything below extrudes inwards. I also noticed the circular stoke icon doesn’t show up

never mind after some troubleshooting, my cursor was switched off! phew, lesson learnt.
