      So in the end the polycount was too high for web browser presentation. As it was shown, topology is not an issue here. Why not using remesh in smooth, not sharp mode? Minimal or no polygon overlap, and it does a more even job. At least that’s my experience.

        My biggest complaint with the remesh modifier is that it doesn’t give more-detailed areas more polygons and less-detail areas less polygons. So if I want to maintain sharp creases and finer details, the whole model gets more density unnecessarily. The decimate modifier will vary mesh density based on level of detail, creating a more optimized mesh that maintains its prior detail.

        You’re right though that polygon overlap is a common annoyance when decimating.

          That is true. It evens out denser polycount in detailed parts. But it was good for me, while in the midphase after the block out, but before the details, to even out the form. And i think overlaps can be collapsed in Dyntopo by “brushing” them out with a slightly bigger edge detail size. At least it worked for me.
