Shark lighting course

It is fun to see the results on the shark, but I am lost after the part placing the dark spots onto the ground. This course uses a lot of short cuts with the add on Node wrangler I guess, it is not shown which keys are pressed. Suddenly the video jumps into the future and suddenly nodes are differently connected.

Truly difficult to follow. Just a pity, because it is actually nice to see a shark with some water lighting effects projected onto it.

Is it possible to redo this course please. It is hardly possible to follow along.

Please show in video how to connect, instead of using node wrangler all the time. Worst part: it is not shown when / what short cut keys are pressed. So, I have to guess. I am stuck with placing the black and white pattern on the floor, around 31 minutes. It was a torture to able to follow until then. Really difficult.

Hello Li. This is not a course, it’s a livestream that was made available of Kent just walking us through how he made the render for his shark sculpt. It’s more of a lay back, take it chill and watch and participate, when it was live of course. You got to ask questions and just hang. Proper courses are more thought through and rehearsed. Still those livestreams were a lot of fun in their days, but you had to be there to get the most of them. Still there’s lots of stuff to be learned from these streams, just not in your regular course way.

Other teachers like Kenny or Paul do them often enough, you can follow CG Cookie on YouTube and get the notifications when they go live. But Kent is not teaching anymore, he is director of education now. Basically he is trying to create more Kent’s in the world so not only him creates quality content.
