Excellent work as always @bc_griffin .

I am really excited to see your 2 scenes, the fight scene sounds like it will be awesome.

Nice! I like the extra length you’ve given the tail, for sure it’s nicer than the stubby version

@beefkeef Thank you, Keith. Yeah, I agree. Adjusting the length of his tail was definitely the right call.

I’ve been watching a lot of Pokémon as of late to get a better understanding on how to storyboard the battle scene between Mewtwo & Mew. Currently busy adding secondary details to Mewtwo’s battle scene where he unleashes his power. I’m thinking of adding anime action lines to create the illusion of speed. I won’t be able to retopo these characters as time are against me. Instead, I’ll replace that time by conceptualizing a dense action scene. Yeah, the bar is lifted but I have to push myself. I’ll rather fail trying. I also love my adaptation of Mewtwo so far.

                  Wow! What a cool shot!

Can I give some feedback? I’m very much a beginner so if you’re NOT interested then no hard feelings if you skip over my comment. It looks really cool! I love the lighting around Mewtwo and the angle where all you see is the silhouette of Mew.  Is possible to change the position of the camera just a little so you get more of Mew’s head and tail?

@wendy10698 Hi Wendy. Yes, you certainly may give feedback. All kinds of feedback are most welcome. Thank you, Wendy. I’ll do that. The final product will consist of various renders, almost to the likes of a comic strip showcasing each scene. Thank you again for your kind feedback, Wendy. Looking forward to your project. Take care of yourself.

Cool! Hope there is one where they each have their shield around them and they’re like colliding or something! 0.0 That would cool. But idk, that might not be the direction you’re heading. I’m just excited and can’t wait to see the final result.

@wendy10698 Funny that you mention that. I have just witnessed a clip on YouTube that shows them clashing. Scene starts at 1:26 —> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZ-OVXr6zGI

I am still conceptualizing however, that does sound cool! I’ll take it into consideration, thank you, Wendy. I’m just as excited to see your results as well.

Superb work!  I didn’t know you can do all these without retopologizing. I assume you are using pose brush in Sculpt? It looks great!

Will be looking forward to see your final render aka comic strip.

@bc_griffin Your ‘Never fear failure’ attitude shows through in your awesome work, and it is an inspiration to us all.

                            Awesome!

@melinmotion Thank you, Mel. Yeah,  many things are possible using this wonderful software. Blender is a true mystery.

Sometimes I would be stuck in a situation and when I try to find a solution online none would be available. After many failed attempts I would eventually find a diagnosis.

I don’t use the Pose brush or should I rather say that the Pose brush doesn’t work well on a tessellated mesh, especially when it exceeds more than a few million. It works extremely well if your mesh is production-friendly.

I would normally just create a quick custom rig and apply the pose of choice. Afterwards there would still be some sculpting involved because when you pose a character a certain way muscle definition tends to change.

Lastly I would say that the biggest factor and most crucial skill here that most new artists fail at is a proper well lit and organised model. You may have an awesome model but without a great lighting setup it would be rendered invisible in quality to most. And of course an awesome texture and shading combination.

Thank you again, Mel. Looking forward to your project.

I created a procedural energy aura effect surrounding the character’s body. This electricity effect acts as one part of his power. Still have to add an energy blast including his power sphere. I might have to dial a bit down on the bloom effect. All part of the development process…trial and error.

For gravity impact, I will create a smoke simulation. I will then import the vdb files (simulation voxel data) that were saved into cache and use the “Volume to Mesh” modifier to turn the voxel data into mesh data for a non-photorealistic effect.
