Hi. KT, Enjoying your videos very very much! Just wondering whether geo nodes could be used in the forest example instead of the particle system? Many thanks

        Hi @bitey ,

GeoNodes would work very well for creating the grass and other undergrowth.

With Blender 3.0 now released, with the addition of more nodes, GeoNodes have become a major feature in Blender.

And I believe will be used a lot for this type of render.

I’m sure there will be tutorials coming soon,

Geo nodes will 100% revolutionize Blender’s particle system as used with this course. I’ve no doubt we will get to work on geo node courses and/or courses that feature geo nodes ASAP.

I should also say that as long as Blender’s particle system exists, it remains useful. I’m working on a freelance project that’s using particles instead of geo nodes and it’s perfectly viable. In other words, new tech doesn’t immediately negate previous tech.

Hi Kent, Thank you so much for the detailed response and good advice re: new tech vs previous tech. That makes good sense. Much appreciated. 🙂
