      Hi all,

I’m modelling the shark for the beginner sculpting course.. I’ve not sure how I’ve got to the point where I find myself…

The model is currently at 2mil faces, is there a way to easily reduce the faces to a more respectable figure??

My laptop doesn’t have the best processing power so its having trouble with this amount of data.

PS. What would you think is a typical amount of faces/vertices etc for a simple sculpt?

      Many thanks

      Adam

In case of the shark (I am guessing that you are using Dyntopo), the easiest thing would be to reduce the resolution setting (with Relative Detail: increase the number in pixels, with Constant Detail: decrease the number) and then use the Simplify Brush on the areas where you don’t need a lot of detail. That means you can locally reduce the number of polygons with out losing the details.

Thank you!! I will give this a try 🙂 I’m still not entirely sure about the whole dyntopo thing to be honest, need to get my head around it still…
