No Hair Info node in Blender 3.2.2

I did some digging and discovered that the Curves Info node works just fine as a replacement in Blender 3.2.2.  Hope that helps anyone else who encounters this issue!

That Node got re-named, because in 3.3+(expected to be released this week!), there is a new hair system, based on curves:

The ‘old’ Particle Hair System will still be available, but is no longer being developed.

How do you know that it is no longer being developed please? Will they completely discard the ‘old’ Particle Hair System in the future please? I thought that geometric nodes were unable to completely replace the ‘old’ Particle Hair System.

I also remember that once upon time, Blender Game Engine was a thing until they completely discarded it in 2018.

Hi @naiad ,

I know that the Particle System is ‘end of life’, because I watch Blender Today. Keeps me updated.

They say the new Hair Type is meant to replace the old system, but I am not sure if they will completely remove it.

There is still a lot missing in the new system (doesn’t even have Children…) at the moment, so at least for now and the near future both systems will be available.

You could even say the old particle hair system is going bald. And on a trip to Istanbul, Blender got new hair.

In Blender 3.5, a setup something like this worked best for me.
