How do I get a nice looking render like yours?

I don’t think you are going to like this answer, but I hand it off to @theluthier and it comes back looking beautiful.

It works 100% of the time. haha.

You can learn about lighting and rendering an animated shot in this course.

This is all about Cycles though because Eevee wasn’t invented yet.

But for the animation course you DON’T need to render anything.  In fact I will encourage you not to waste your time.

You can just render the viewport and spit it out in a few seconds rather than hours.
        Hope that helps, Ahmad.

Thanks. It wouldn’t be for the course per se. Just when I actually animated something decent, to make a nice render of it, to show off to family and friends. Thanks Wayne.

Different course, but I found this lesson really useful to cover a lot of aspects of lighting, rendering, compositing etc and have been re-using the techniques learned in it for rendering all sorts of things https://cgcookie.com/lesson/rendering-presentation
