Never mind on that question about why it was automatically mirroring the right bone while extruding the left IK bone. I still had the “X-Axis Mirror” box enabled in the Options under the “Tools” Tab on the left. I deselected it and no more auto mirroring. Just in case someone else runs into this overlook. 🙂
