        Hi @barusa ,

as far as I know, there hasn’t been a course or lesson on how to create this shader totem. There has been a question in here some time ago:

        https://cgcookie.com/community/10462-modeling-of-indentations-at-cgc-shader-totem?page=1

But no start to finish tutorial.

          Hey @barusa,

I maybe mistaken, but I think there was a course on modeling the shader ball. If I am right it would of been some years ago and has probably been confined to history in the deep dark depths of a storage warehouse somewhere.
Like I said though, I could be wrong.

The shader ball is available free for CGCookie citizens,  👉 cgc-shader-totem 👈

If you are interested in how its made, you can reverse engineer it after download. A great way of learning.

          Hope this helps!

No, there is no tutorial for when the shader ball was created, I think Kent did it on his own but never recorded it to slap materials on it. The one that had a tutorial was the orb, Kent did do a modeling tutorial for it, to then teach retopology on it. This guy

Thank you for the answers everybody.  My take away from the answers confirmed what I discovered. There is not a course building the shader ball from scratch., at least not currently.

While watching the texturing video I noticed several design choices I would have liked to hear more about. Kent has many great videos, so I was hoping there was something I just simply missed or couldn’t find. There are still many videos on CG Cookie I haven’t had time to watch, so I am hopeful I will find something else.
