multi monitor configuration

im trying to configure my triple monitor display to have blender function across two screens, and the old info i found about dragging a new window out from the upper right corner no longer applies so i think i have it working but im not sure, plus i havent used blender in around 2 years so im feeling kind of lost

if you find the cross hairs icon in one of the lower corners 

you can hold shift and drag the window to another monitor or you can
