      More of a comment than a question, but with the stylised nature of the artwork, I kind of read the eyeballs as being eggshaped rather than ellipsoid. It’s kind of hard to judge because of the flesh around the eyes, but I wonder whether you might have gotten a more satisfying shape with a mesh distort modifier? Gives you a more complex shape, and keeps the geometry smooth…

      There was a video tutorial for rigging cartoon-y eyes somewhere on the site, but I went away and everything changed… 😉

        I’d actually be interested in you and other’s takes on the same artwork. As in I’d love to see how you approach this same character! Maybe you would come to different shapely conclusions that end up looking more authentic.
