I want to shrink a symmetric loop about its center while the mirror modifier is active.

The problem is that blender refuses to shrink towards the true middle in the center of the loop, and instead pretends like I want to shrink the center of only half the loop. There’s a simple shortcut to fix this but I don’t remember.

You could apply the mirror modifier, do your thing and when you’re done, delete half and add mirror again.

That’s such a stupid process though, there must be like a simple one-key trick I can hit.

            Hi Sid,

Depending on the exact Situation, you can

Scale in Object Mode and then Apply the Scale.

Place the 3D Cursor in the center of the Loop and use that as Pivot Point.
