Looking for exercises to help me understand how to apply believable/how to learn textures to my Form Studies

Hi all,

I’ve been working so hard on getting my lighting and form correct for simple shapes, and now I feel confident after tackline colour theory I’m really struggling on how to approach textures in painting.

Does anyone have suggestions on how I could tackle learning this?

thinks like SSS I understand but, textures like rocks etc are just so hard for me.
