      Just curious – why do the high poly and low poly objects have to be directly on top of each other/in same position before the Selected To Active Normals bake?

        Sourcing my limited technical knowledge, I believe it has to do with global ray-casting. A good bake is dependent of the positional relationship between the high and low-poly version.
