It would be seriously useful if there were precise instructions for how to get the textures. Can anyone write out step by step what you need to do?

Why does everyone want the textures to be unpacked? A simple google search for “unpacking blender files” will answer the question but unpacking is entirely irrelevant to following this course.

Oh wow, cool. Didn’t know we could unpack the blender files – I’ve been following the Intro to Blender “Flow” and it’s never been mentioned in the videos. Thanks for pointing us in the right direction in the comments!

The noob instinct is to look for an external texture file, I guess. I didn’t realize I didn’t have to until I read this comment. Of course, now I’ve got gizmo all over my background. Hi ho, fixing mistakes is how we learn. How I learn, anyway.

It’s just a general lack of confidence in how you incorporate data from one file in to another project. I’ve kind of progressed beyond this since, but it does feel like a small oversight in the wider course. Although it is perfectly likely that I am just not showing initiative 🙂

In the video, you browse for the texture file with no mention of having to unpack the blender file to get to it. Come on, bro..we’re all noobs here..that’s why we’re taking your course. I’m clearly not the only one lost. BTW, “unpack all into files” is gray. No love.

I think most of us are following along, i for example pause the video after everything you do and then do it myself, personaly this is the only way i can learn.

… because you have us browse for a file to add the texture, but never explain how to access those files, which is by unpacking them.

So yes, it’s actually quite relevant to following this course.

The required steps by the way: File > External Data > Unpack All Into Files (click even if grayed out)
