In the cycles lesson with the colored room, with the lighting information baked, what next? Do we delete the sun lamp so Blender does not need to do a full render? I had assumed the point was to improve the rendering time. Is that true? If so, don’t we have to somehow shutoff the light or set something on the objects to say ignore me during the render process?

Lastly, for someone not interested in animation, but only still scenes, is there any need for baking? I suppose the high-res model being baked to a low-res model makes sense, but in practice, is baking more for animation / games?

      Thanks!
