If i plan on doing my renders in evee should i still take the cycles portion of this course?

Do some of the things you teach in the cycles portion carry over the evee section are are there any changes that have happened up to 3.3.1 I should keep in mind?

Yes!
There will be a time when Eevee just won’t do. It’s good to have the knowledge (and Cycles) as an option.

Totally a must to learn both cycles and eevee way of things when it comes to lighting, one does inform the other and seeing the parallels and how they differ will benefit you. So don’t skip like a rock thrown at an angle, take the dive and sink like a rock that plunges head on.
