In this video at the time stamp 16:05, you said that increasing the “Quality” value may avoid the incidence of the spikes. But unfortunately, you can not go back to change the value without deleting all skin detail.

Let’s say that if God gave to you a second chance before increasing the subdivision in the multiresolutions modifier, what would the ideal value for the “Quality” to sculpt the skin pores and wrinkles for Simon’s face please? Thank you!

I honestly don’t know of an “ideal” value for the multires quality setting. I have confidence in using that tool because I’m aware of it’s existence and purpose so I can experiment with it when I need to. That is way more important than knowing an “ideal” value for it.
