I try to extrude an edge and it doesn’t do anything

So I got to the stage where I have the quarter-circle with the mirror modifier on to make a half-circle, and am trying to pull the edge out to make a tab. I select E to extrude, select the edge, and try to drag it, but nothing happens.

What am I not seeing?

Never mind. Solved the problem. What was wrong was snapping was on and I was not near anything that could be snapped to, so nothing happened when I dragged. This made me think something was wrong with the software. But turning off snapping fixed it.
