I Cant seem to get the checkered pattern onto my model, i have followed you to the T rewinding and p[laying again to make sure i didnt miss anything…i an wrapped my model, created the texture…named it…left the color black, alpha on, chencged the engine to blender render, went into the model viewer, changed to object mode, and made sure it was selected. Then i chose texture from the bottom menu, and i get nothing. nothing is applied to my model. But if i turn alpha off when i name the texture it appears on my model….any help here..as in the video, you do not turn alpha off and you still get the checkered texture on the model

Are you using the same render engine I use in the video? Blender Render instead of Cycles?

Hi Kent, yes i changed to blender render, still the checkered pattern wasn’t showing….tried it again this morning. made seams, added a UV Map in properties, unwrapped model, changed to blender render before changing name of UV texture. Did everything saw the texture was not going onto my model again…then chose the texture from the bottom panel in the UV Editor and it jumped onto my model..ahhhhhhhh….lol been pulling my hair out for a bit…thanx for the swift reply…i will go through the process a few more times to make sure im doing it correctly before moving forward….thanx again. 🙂 loving your course…its a bit fast but the information is all there 🙂

I was having the same problem, thanks to user ‘antimatter’ I learned that I wasn’t selecting all before selecting the new texture 🙂 Try doing that then select the new texture again 🙂
