      i just got a drawing tablet and i cannot figure out how to make that lasso style box for the shadow effect i see in every video that nobody seems to explain

        Hi Pearljam.

        You just need to draw with a material that has a fill.  

        It is possible that you are drawing with a material that only has a stroke.
