      Hi there,
      When choosing a background image as environment texture it lights the scene as intended. However, the image itself is not shown in the 3d view (as seen in the video).
      So i jumped into the properties panel, ticked the World Background box under display, and now it’s shown in solid mode. But…it still isn’t visible when using the Rendered view (cycles).

      I’m probably missing a tickbox. Can you tell me where I can activate it?

        Go to your render settings and look in the Film section. If you have Transparent checked then the world environment won’t be visible in the camera but it will contribute to the scene’s lighting.

          I had the exact same problem, and my transparency wasn’t checked as Kent suggested but I hit Numpad 5 to toggle orthographic view and it came up. Seems it wont display the background when you are in orthographic…..
