Hair Path/Children not displaying correctly

Hi everyone, just wanted to ask a beginners question, so I revisited the particle hair system in Blender, and I bumped into the same problem i had before and a bit stuck .

In the Particle Edit the paths/children are looking correct

However, whenever I go out of the object mode it looks like this , even when the steps are the same does anyone knows a way or setting that I might have missed. Thanks and would really appreciate the help.

There is a different steps input under display that you need to change as well. Hopefully that solves it 🙂
