For some reason in sculpt mode I don’t have the sculpt tab that you use here, I’m using blender version 2.77 also could that be the problem? Thank you!

The sculpt tab comes from the Sclulpt Tools UI addon that you can download from this course: https://cgcookie.com/course/modeling-a-sci-fi-helmet/#about
